Consideration of Nuclear Forces from the Viewpoint of the Renormalization Group Relation of Nuclear Forces between Phenomenological Approach and Nuclear Effective Field Theory

چکیده
A relation between nuclear forces derived using a phenomenological approach and nuclear effective field theory (NEFT) is proposed from a renormalization group point of view. A phenomenological nuclear force (Vph) and an NEFT-based NN-potential (VEFT ) are satisfactorily related to each other through the Wilsonian renormalization group (WRG) method. It is clearly shown that use of the simple contact interactions in NEFT is adequate to simulate small scale phenomena, and that an NEFT-based NN-potential (VEFT ) is free from dependence on the model used to describe small scale phenomena. We study the characteristics of VEFT from a WRG point of view, emphasizing points that have not previously been fully recognized. We also use the Vlow k method and a unitary transformation method to relate Vph to VEFT . It is found that they are not appropriate for this purpose.

Renormalization group analysis of nuclear force
We study a relation between nuclear forces based on phenomenological approach (Vph) and nuclear effective field theory (VEFT ) from a viewpoint of renormalization group. We find the relation between these two types of nuclear force using Wilsonian renormalization group equation. Considering the fact that VEFT is defined in a certain small model space, we show that a simple contact interaction a...

Relation between the phenomenological interactions of the algebraic cluster model and the effective two–nucleon forces Hungary We determine the phenomenological cluster–cluster interactions of the algebraic model corresponding to the most often used effective two–nucleon forces for the 16 O + α system.

A relation between standard nuclear physics approach (SNPA) and nuclear effective field theory (NEFT) is proposed from a renormalization group point of view. SNPA and NEFT are satisfactorily related to each other through the Wilsonian renormalization group (WRG) method. It is clearly shown that the use of the simple contact interactions in NEFT is adequate to simulate short-distance physics, an...
متن کامل2 00 3 Pairing in nuclear systems with effective Gogny and V low k interactions
The pairing properties of nuclear systems are a sensitive probe of the effective nucleon-nucleon interactions. We compare the 1 S 0 pairing gaps in nuclear and neutron matter derived from the phenomenological Gogny interaction and a renormal-ization group motivated low-momentum V low k interaction extracted from realistic interactions. We find that the pairing gaps predicted by these interactio...
متن کاملNuclei and chiral dynamics
Nuclear theory has entered an exciting era. This is due to advances on many fronts, including the development of effective field theory and the renormalization group for nuclear forces, advances in ab-initio methods for nuclear structure, an effort to develop a universal density functional based on microscopic interactions, and the application of large-scale computing resources. I discuss their...
